Los Fabulous Frankies
History

1995
March
After Koen Verbeek quit Sin Alley, he and Wan De Brabander decide to start up a new band. The idea is playin' Desperate Rockabilly, but with the same party spirit of the likes of King Kurt and The Highliners. Worktitle is "Big Boy Blubber & His Fine Young Skeletones".
Members: Koen Verbeek (vocals & rhythm guitar), Wan De Brabander (lead guitar), Clark Kenis (double bass), Joris Govers (drums)

August
Koen's voice turns out not to be fit for the genre, and Franky De Block is asked to join the band as a singer. Koen plays rhythm guitar.

September
The band is joined by another guitarist, Steven Janssens. Koen now plays the drums, together with Joris, but after a while he does only percussion.

December
On New Year's Eve the band, now named Frantic Franky's Capital Punishment makes its first appearance at the "Democrazy" in Ghent (B), during the "Good Taste Rock'n'Roll Revue", featuring also The Who-Dads, The 50 Ft Combo, Fabian, and more.

August
Dries announces he cannot keep up this pace, and decides to withdraw himself from the band.
They start looking for a replacement, but since it's not found immediately they decide to do lesser gigs in the future, in order to keep Dries in the band.

1999
May
The band is offered a CD deal by the German Part label. Dries concludes this will mean more gigs, and decides to quit definitely. The band can persuade him to play on the record, and quit after that.

The CD is released.
On October 29 Dries plays his last concert at JH "De Nok" in Vosselaar (B).
The band, now a quintet, gets help from pianist Sébi Lee.
